Mary Ellen Croteau is an artist whose work directly addresses the absurdities of social norms, and lays bare the underlying bias and sexist assumptions on which our culture is constructed. She currently works with non-recycled plastic waste, in an effort to demonstrate the huge amounts of  trash we are consuming and sending into the environment.

Shown at right is CLOSE, her bottle cap self-portrait, 8’ x 7’

She lives and works in Chicago, IL

Up This Summer in Sweden!

Planet Blue, a collaboration with Ayala Leyser at OpenART 2015 festival in Orebro Sweden. Ai Weiwei is also in this festival, so we are in auspicious company!
